November has arrived!

November is here! Not only is it my birthday month, but the tail end of fall, which is my favorite season. The colors of nature are astounding. I never tire of the trees.

This year, my husband Greg and I traveled to the east coast, something we've always wanted to do this time of year. We flew to Boston, rented a car, drove up to Maine, then down through New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. We saw the home of Robert Frost and walked in his woods. It was awesome to see the points along his property where he may have been inspired to write some of his poems.

Our final destination was Princeton, NJ, where I was being honored as a 2013 Distinguished Alumna of Princeton Theological Seminary, our alma mater. It's 30 years since we graduated and started our life of ministry together. The award was in large part for my writing, my contribution to children's literature and ministry. I am still in awe and deeply humbled by this recognition.

The award belongs in large part to all of my readers, so thank you, each and every one of you who have loved my books through the years. I am inspired to keep writing and contributing to the best of my ability and gifts.

Enjoy the season, whatever it is. Life is a precious gift indeed.
